Over the last three years, dESIGNtUTOR has been successfully delivering creative club activities to junior, middle and high school students at various schools across the National capital region.


Cartooning & Caricature

TARGET AUDIENCE:STUDENTS OF CLASS IV TO VIII

Presently being offered at The Shri Ram School, Gurgaon , DPS Sushantlok

WHAT DOES THE STUDENT LEARN?

If your child is a Doodler, a Scribbler or a Sketcher,she/ he may like to know more about the art of cartooning. With practical demonstrations as well as hands-on guidance, the workshop will present a step-by-step guide to the cartoonist's craft, with lots of laughter! Students will learn the basics of cartooning, plus how to invent humorous characters, how to capture an expression, how to draw bodies for personality types, when to simplify, when to exaggerate, and much more.

Culture Gully-Traditional Indian Arts & Textiles

TARGET AUDIENCE:STUDENTS OF CLASS III-VIII

WHAT DOES THE STUDENT LEARN?

A necessary skill for the 21st Century is that students understand and make connections with cultures vastly different from their own. In this Friday activity, these city students will learn about the traditions and characteristics of three ancient textiles and arts of rural India- - Gond painting, Kasuti embroidery, Bandhini and Lehariya. They will create products using their interpretation and stylistic conventions of these textile and art forms.

Material Manipulation & 3d Model Making

TARGET AUDIENCE:STUDENTS OF CLASS IV-VIII

WHAT DOES THE STUDENT LEARN?

Material exploration and Model making are great activities for young students, to develop both their minds and their manual dexterity, while being absorbing and entertaining. This 10 session club will allow the students to explore varying material and media- like textiles, wood, metal, plastic etc. and manipulate the same towards models through interesting model-making techniques. Each student will work to advance her/is own skill and knowledge.This activity introduces the young mind to using sketching as a tool in concept generation and ideas of scaling and following directions. The skills may be used as part of future curriculum projects, or to further stimulate creativity. Skilled facilitators will be there to lend a hand and to ensure students get the most from their club.

Foundation for Creative Careers

TARGET AUDIENCE:STUDENTS OF CLASS IX-XII

Presently being offered at The Shri Ram School, Gurgaon

WHAT DOES THE STUDENT LEARN?

This 12 session club will be very useful if your child has interest in pursuing creative careers in the field of Design , Fashion and Architecture . The club module is designed to initiate and orient students towards design and creative thinking. It will equip them with the requisite tools of visualization and expression- imperative for future careers in design, fashion and architecture. It’ll also give them a headstart in their preparation of entrance examination of design and fashion schools like NID , NIFT and architecture colleges under NATA
